Standing Questions
Ask once. Hear from Apogee only when the answer changes.
Most legislative alerts fire on every mention of a bill. A standing question pins the exact answer Apogee gave you, re-checks it on a schedule and whenever the bill, member, or committee behind it moves, and stays quiet until the answer is actually different.

Get your answer. Then pin it.
Ask Apogee a question the way you'd ask a colleague. Once the answer is in front of you, one line turns it into a standing job:
"Watch this""Keep this updated""Let me know when this changes"
Why it stays quiet
A mention is not news. A change is.
A bill gets referenced in a hearing, a press release, and a floor speech in the same week. A keyword alert treats all three the same way and sends three emails that say nothing new. Apogee reads the new version of the answer before deciding whether it's worth telling you anything.
Day 12 - re-checked
"Where does H.R. 4521 stand on committee markup?" Same committee, same schedule, same answer as last week.
No email sent.
Day 19 - re-checked
The committee added an amendment and scheduled a markup for next week. The answer to the same question is now different.
Emailed, with what changed and why.
How it works
One question. No repeat visits.
1
Ask, then pin the answer
Ask your question in chat the way you normally would. Once Apogee answers, tell it to watch that answer, in your own words. The exact question you asked is what gets re-run later, not a paraphrase.
2
Apogee re-checks it
The question re-runs on a schedule, and again the moment a bill, member, or committee behind the answer changes. Each re-run is a fresh answer, not a cached copy.
3
You hear about it only when it matters
Every fresh answer is compared against the last one seen. A material difference gets emailed, framed against the original question. Nothing else does.
Not the same as a briefing
Two different jobs
A briefing monitors a topic
Set a schedule and get a fresh, synthesized report on everything moving in an area, every time, whether or not anything changed.
Read about BriefingsA standing question monitors an answer
Pin one specific answer and hear nothing further unless it stops being true. No scheduled report, no guaranteed email; just a change, when there is one.
