Notes

Notes is where a meeting, a call, or a debrief becomes structured work with no extra step. Paste the readout, drop a file, or type a quick line into chat, and Apogee reads it, links the people, bills, and whips it mentions, and files whatever it supports - a whip position, a logged interaction, a follow-up - straight onto the same ledgers those features already keep. There is no review card and no confirmation step: the reply tells you exactly what was filed, and you correct anything by saying so in chat.

Everything captured this way is private to your account, the same as the rest of your Policy Graph.

Capturing a note

Notes is captured entirely through chat - from the Notes page itself, or from any conversation:

"Capture these meeting notes: met with Rep. Whitfield's office, her LD says she's leaning yes if the subsidy cliff language holds. She'll send the county table by Friday."

Apogee reads the text once and files what it finds:

• A whip position, when the conversation is inside (or can be tied to) a folio with an active whip count - with the same provenance and never-clobber rules the Whip count already applies to any position you set by hand
• A logged interaction, with the people involved added to your People network so the note resurfaces later
• Any commitment mentioned, filed to Chase as a follow-up with its due date

If a position can't be filed - no active whip on the conversation, or the person isn't a tracked target - Apogee says so plainly instead of dropping it silently, and offers to open a count or point you at the right one.

What doesn't get captured

Text that isn't meeting, call, or event notes - a question, a request, ordinary conversation - is never forced into a capture. Apogee classifies before filing anything, and a message that doesn't read as notes files nothing.

The Notes page

Every captured note - and every note you've written by hand on a person or inside a whip count - is listed at /notes, newest first, each row showing what it linked to and how many records it filed. Opening a note shows its full text, its links, and a receipt of exactly what was filed from it. The page itself is read-only: capturing, editing, and correcting all happen through chat, which stays the single write path so the ledger is never edited out from under its own provenance.

Privacy

Notes are part of the private layer of your Policy Graph. What you capture is scoped to your account and never shared with, or aggregated across, other users.
